Course coordinator: Prof. Sung-Ho Kim

The class emphasized critical thinking and making, while introducing students to various digital software. The students investigated various typologies of kites to develop a hybrid that informed their flying machines. The hybrids were finessed through an iterative process over the course of the semester using both physical and digital modeling, to generate a prototype that synthesized form and performance. A thorough documentation of process was done through digital modelling, diagramming, and photography.

Software introduced : Rhino 3D (various plugins) + VRay, Adobe Suite.
